This Privacy Policy explains how Phonekit Cleaner ("we") collects, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application ("App") on iOS devices in the United States. By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. We comply with applicable U.S. privacy laws, including the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and Apple's App Store Guidelines.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information necessary to provide and improve the App's core functionality—we do not collect unnecessary personal data, and we will never sell or share your information with third parties for marketing purposes. The information we collect falls into two categories:
1.1 Information You Voluntarily Provide
Files and Content: When you use the App's file management, format conversion (e.g., PDF to Excel, Word to PDF), or photo organization features, we access files (documents, photos) that you explicitly select or upload to the App. This content remains under your control. 1.2 Automatically Collected Information (To Enable Features)
Device and Usage Data: We may collect limited, non-identifiable data about your iOS device (e.g., device model, iOS version) and app usage (e.g., which features you use most frequently) to fix bugs, optimize performance, and enhance the user experience. This data does not include personally identifiable information such as your name or email address.
Scans (Local Only): When you use the Scan to PDF feature, the app processes the image captured by your camera locally on your device and converts it to a PDF. Scans are not sent to our servers.
2. Permissions We Request (and Why We Need Them)
To provide the core functionality of the app, we request certain permissions from your iOS device. You can manage or revoke these permissions at any time in Settings > Files Manager on your device. Permission Usage
1) Camera Permissions:
When you use the "Take a Picture, Scan, or Convert to PDF" feature, the scanning feature will not access your camera without your explicit consent.
Local Storage - Converted files (e.g., PDF to Excel), scanned PDFs, and organized photo data are stored locally on your device. This ensures access even when offline. Core functionality does not require cloud storage.
2) Gallery:
Access your photo albums to convert images to PDFs.
Detect similar duplicates. Improve image and video categorization and video compression.
Add images/videos to private albums based on your preferences.
3) Calendar Permissions:
This is used only to identify and clean up redundant items like overdue appointments and recurring reminders. Your appointment details will not be read or stored.
4) Contacts Permissions:
This is used only to remove duplicate contacts, clean up incomplete entries, and provide secure backups. Your contact information will not be uploaded or shared. All operations are performed locally to ensure privacy.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect only to provide and improve the app's features:
Process file conversions (e.g., PDF to Excel, Word to PDF) and store the results locally.
Enable smart photo organization features (e.g., duplicate detection, media categorization) to help you organize and free up device storage space.
4. Data Storage and Security
Local Storage Priority: By default, all your files, photos, videos, and private album content are stored locally on your iOS device. We do not store your personal content (e.g., photos) on our servers.
Data Retention: You control how long your data is stored—you can delete files, photos, or private album content at any time through the app. Once you delete your data from the app, we no longer retain it. We only retain limited non-personal information for as long as necessary to maintain and improve the app.
5. Data Security
We implement appropriate administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. These measures include:
● Encrypted communications with our servers
● Secure data centers for cloud-based processing
● Local storage of sensitive personal content on your device
